The most glamorous of careers often hide the most piteous stories underneath. Lolo Jones, who took home the USA as well as the World championships in hurdle events in 2013, has only reached this position through a great deal of effort and tremendous patience. Jones was the sole child in a family of five as well as grew up living in poverty. Her mother had been constantly moving and she even was a resident at the bottom of her home. Jones lived a nomadic existence that made her change schools every year until the age of high school. Jones was forced to move away from her mother in Theodore Roosevelt School in order follow her passion for track. Jones lived in four distinct houses during her years of high school, so she could complete her studies at one time. Jones also played cello in the orchestra at school. While at her school, she received the Gatorade Athlete of the Year Award from the Iowa Track & Field. Jones, when she went to college, was recognized as one of best hurdlers....
